Week 13

1st Quarter Check-Up

Am I following through all commitments I’ve written back in January?

No…

Why not?

Not enough time…

If that’s the case, where did I spend most of my time on?

Crafting a routine I can consistently follow.

That means, becoming more disciplined with my schedule.

This has nothing to do with wasting time but it has more to do with priorities.

Looking back, I think I’m spending most of my time trying to find a good habit on my weekdays:

  • going to bed and getting up early
  • don’t skip breakfast
  • watch my grumpiness whenever I’m tired
  • read – but try not to consume too much information.
  • keep our place neat
  • prep for taking my insurance license on the side.

and on weekends…well, I wanted to enjoy my weekends – I wanna use my weekends to relax, decompress and prefer to get bored to a point where I feel the need to go back to work.

That being said, my priority is to:

craft a daily habit to make room for other ventures I wanted to pursue

I understand this is difficult. But it is possible.

The goals I previously set-up for myself weren’t followed because they don’t excite me as much anymore. And probably because there are other more important things I should be doing.

The Commitments that Deserved More Attention

Workout 3x A Week

I find this hard to follow because I feel exhausted after work. Especially when I work overtime. I can push myself to workout, however, that also means giving up the time to recover or to have the time to cook and do the dishes.

Let’s say I only needed 30-minutes to work out. It doesn’t sound so bad. However, a 30-minute workout really takes about 45-mins because you still have to set-up your workout space, take sips of water between sets or whenever you have to mentally convince yourself to push harder.

I’m not saying I hit a dead-end here, this just means that I haven’t figured out how to set-up my schedule properly. There is a workaround on this problem that I have yet to figure out.

Increase Traffic to My Website

I have not been able to find the time to produce content to Medium.

But I’ve been consistently writing my weekly updates.

Why is this a challenge?

I realized that I needed to finish off the Life Insurance Brokerage License first EVEN THOUGH I’m losing interest in it.

Don’t get me wrong. I still want to sell insurance. I just hate studying for it.

I’ve also been drawing on MS Paint on the side but I don’t plan on releasing any of it until June of this year.

Eliminate Debt – Study Monthly Expenses

This one is going to a continuous challenge as debt will come and go.

But lately, I’m noticing the rise of incurred debt as opposed to reducing it.

I’m not too concerned just yet because it’s not like I’m wasting my money on things that don’t provide a long-term benefit.

What I need to watch out for is the purchase of things that only benefit us temporarily. But which items are temporary?

The answer is subjective – we value different things.

Corrective Action Required

Perhaps I need to look further into managing my time more efficiently.

I think this is the key to help me find the time I need to perform the commitments I’m failing to follow.

This means…

  • studying how much time I spend fucking around in a day
  • re-arrange my daily tasks such that each activity compliments the other. Examples would be:
    • listen to a podcast while washing the dishes
    • Cook meals that require the least ingredients
    • Bring back online grocery shopping
    • Use the dishwasher as opposed to handwashing.
    • Meditate for 15-minutes as opposed to taking a nap

But my real goal is to get you to be more aware of your actions or at least to make you think and question your current beliefs. Because a lot of the belief I acquired back then helped me a little, but later hindered my progress in life.

But if you don’t give a fuck the way I’m not giving a fuck about anything right now (cuz I’m on vacation) – then that’s perfectly fine too ๐Ÿ˜‰
