Week 15

I saw 3 of the movies I’ve been meaning to watch this week. Here are my expectation ratings:

  • Dune (3 stars) – wtf that’s it?! I haven’t seen the original movie but I was hoping for an ending that isn’t cut off.
  • Matrix Resurrections (3 stars) – it wasn’t as good as I expected. The Matrix is supposed to be one of the best movie series out there. But I have to admit, I still don’t fully get it. Call me stupid but LOL that’s just my honest opinion.
  • The Kingsman (3 stars) – the story was not as good as the Bourne Series. Oh well, sequels.

I now have a different take on vacations — instead of relaxing, I focused more on appreciating.

A lot of times, vacations can be tiring. So the idea of “relaxation” goes out the window before and after the vacation. Now, I’m not saying that I wasn’t relaxed during our vacation. I’m not suggesting that the vacation I just had was not refreshing either. Everything went well despite the anxiety of crossing the border and stuff.

All I’m saying is, when you appreciate, all the pressure and tiredness and all other negative emotions go away.

It’s more potent that trying to “relax”.

Man…vacations are almost always too short.

I wonder if that’s driven by the reality that vacations have an ending. Just like summer, it’s good while it lasts. And just like anything in life, too much of something good is bad.

Whatever “good” will lose its significance the moment it becomes normal.

This is exactly why I now focus on appreciating instead of relaxing. It doesn’t have any after-effects.

A Year Ago This Week
