Week 18

This whole week was spent in Japan — the last part of our looong trip…

And just like with any trips, it felt short to me.

There’s a shtload of things to do in Tokyo. And because there’s a lot to do, your savings also need to keep up with it. It may be pricey (compared to our previous trips), but it’s worth it.

That’s exactly why we saved up for it 🙂

Japan is the last part of our “longest trip so far”.

We’ve been away for 2 months. Tomorrow, we are going to be back to being frugal lol. Money is much like Life – it goes up and down.

But the bigger point here is that you should spend money on the things you value most.

For us, it’s having the experience to travel as a family.

I’ll be writing about my trips on Medium – go check it as I’m putting more work into those than this weekly update.

This blog is personal – none of this sht is going to change your mind about something.

What’s next? A LOT.

Here’s a summary:

  • Bring back old routines to keep us “fit to travel”.
  • Mentally prep myself to go back to work. As of now, I feel like I don’t know anything.
  • Learn Excel as a way to keep up with the “AI Take Over”.
  • Lexi’s room.
  • Publish one article on Medium per week.

Bittersweet but that’s exactly how it should be.

Buddha became “Buddha” because he was a prince and he had everything before he gave it all up.

Most of us are unlikely to become a prince and have “everything”. Therefore, it is much harder for us to give up the “pleasures of life”. Why?

We have no idea what that is like.

To understand something, you can’t just imagine it—you need to experience it.

Agree? Disagree?

P.S. That right there is a taste of how I write some semi-controversial sht on Medium lol.

A Year Ago This Week

  • I read Paulo Coelho’s The Archer and I learned something new about mastery.
  • Work was super busy that I needed to change my morning routine to keep up.
  • “Effort” is context-based.
