Week 24

It’s my first week back to work…

I was overwhelmed with the changes and relearning what I used to do. At the same time, I was bored simply because I’m not actively working on a project that has a deadline. But I spent the time “sharpening” the tools I used to help me get things done quickly. To be precise, I’m referring to the application of the lessons I learned on VBA coding and Excel Macro.

I will start helping out on projects with attached deadlines this coming week.

Lexi graduated from playschool this week.

That means we wouldn’t worry about making her lunch and dropping her off to school until the next school year. However, I didn’t get to go to her graduation because her brother has the flu. A day later, Lexi also caught the flu.

And when both of them are sick—it’s difficult to get things done because both of them want their parents to be around them 24/7.

Now that my old superiors have moved on to new roles, I can’t help but feel the need to also move to a new role.

For some reason, their leaving feels like they’re pursuing continuous growth. And because I stayed behind, I feel like I’m not working toward my career growth.  This made me reflect on my own career trajectory.

But after a while, I realized I needed to stay in the group.

There’s a skill I wanna develop, and the group I’m with gives me the opportunity to develop that skill.

A Year Ago This Week

  • nosebleeds – they happen more frequently.
  • took Lexi to The Ex.
  • someone’s wondered why they don’t see a link to my updates anymore.
