Week 27

What Happened This Week

Rented a cabin to break away from the daily/weekly usual.

It’s no question how vacations help you deal with burnouts, BUT…

I also realized that you don’t need to go someplace else to get your fix. Simply breaking away from the routine (from the “grind”) is good enough.

I saw ‘Your Name.’. I enjoyed it. It’s a love story LOL but no, it’s not the romantic type. I don’t think it is. It’s more about a classic story of destiny but with a new spin. So what is it about this movie that caused me to write about it?

The music, the structure, the twist – the whole thing was delivered in such a way that struck my emotions.

It makes me wonder how I can apply the same elements to the content I create.

I don’t just watch, I study what I’m watching as well.

Built Lexi’s play structure in the backyard in 30-deg C weather.

The structure looks simple to build, but it took us forever to build it.

The struggle has more to do with finding the parts and reading instructions as opposed to drilling and mounting the pieces together.

End Of Month Assessment

I failed to meet the following goals I set up for myself:

  • Write 4 short articles – I decided to take a break from writing (because I feel burned out).
  • Read a book – I didn’t finish reading a book but I’m currently reading one. It’s about human nature.
  • I wasn’t able to improve my knowledge of personal finance – I decided to focus on my digital illustrations.

A Year Ago This Week

  • I talked about “relationship maintenance”.Most of the important things in life typically require some maintenance.
  • redesigned my website.
    • I’m thinking about doing this again this time but web redesign is such a time-suck. Sure it’s fun to design and all that, but there’s really not much to gain from it in terms of getting more traffic. Hmm scratch that. Maybe I just suck at web design, which, sounds more realistic reason.

  • I was able to save money from WFH arrangement.
