Week 30

I missed a credit card payment due to my lack of attention.

This is an easy mistake to make when you automate your finances. We have multiple accounts where we cycle our income through. But that one mistake is expensive! I was charged a fee.

Then, I called the credit card company and got them to waive it for me because I’m a loyal customer and this is the first time it happened—blah blah blah.

They waived it, then I was warned that they could only waive that kind of mistake once.

Lesson learned.

I manage some of my parents’ finance.

They’re too old school to learn how to do online banking and all that. They don’t really keep track of their expenses either. Now, as the responsible son, it is my duty to assist them with that.

This makes me wonder, “How did my grandparents do their finance and how did that affect my parents’ skills of handling theirs?”

It’s been a week now since our AC broke.

Smoke came out of it due to the overheating of the compressor. Our AC guy attempted to fix this problem by replacing it with older compressors (from an older unit) to save money. However, he couldn’t get them to work.

That’s when we decided to just replace the whole unit with a new one *sigh*
