The Good News
Heard from an old friend that he’s finally done with school and is now moving to a different city. Things are going very well for him and I was happy to hear that.
Another friend who has finally gone through the bullshit of life is now doing very well now that his current career was taken into a higher level. He is now a manager of an army of cleaning crew that is serving about 50 different job sites.
These stories are something to brag about – an opportunity to tell the whole Facebook community about how you’re doing well – to tell everyone, “I’ve made it!”.
But they didn’t post any of this stuff on social media (at least I’m not aware it) and I found that to be something worth noticing – they are humble about their success.
No need to rush to the top.
Rushing only increases your chance of tripping.
Slow and steady wins the race.

Off-site work parties have a way of breaking down your vulnerability armor.
I used to be an open book. Then turned into a vault. I became one of those people who guard any information about themselves – especially the good ones. It’s my inconvenient way of minimizing my ego.
However this time, I temporarily brought my walls down to provide a little sneak peek about myself. Well, I had to – for the sake of building a stronger team.
We did a “round-table” where each participant needs to reveal something personal about themselves – something most of your coworkers don’t know about. And because of it, I was surprised to learn that…
- Mr. A is actually from South America, NOT from the Middle East. It was like trying to distinguish a Filipino from a Thai.
- Mr. B is single, yet this whole time I thought he had a family.
- Mrs. C is into reading romantic novels.
- Mrs. D moved to different cities.
- Mrs. E grew up in England.
- Mr. F’s real name is “Lawrence”.
- Mrs. G can speak in Chinese and Korean.
- Mrs. F has a 14-month old baby.
- Mr. H was from Germany and he loves sports.
- Mr. I was married for 33 years and have lived in the same house for 32 years.
- Mrs. J studied law.
- Mr. K is into Grey’s Anatomy.
- Mr. L wanted his parents to call him “Babe”.
- Ms. M has a boyfriend.
- Mrs. N is not planning to have baby #2 just yet.
I gotta say, I enjoyed listening and learning something more personal about the people I work with. There’s something about knowing the “real person” behind the professional persona. It changes the way (in a good way) you wanna engage with them at work.
A Month Of...
Sleep-deprivation. Breast-feeding. Milk-pumping. Skin-to-Skin-ning. Diaper changing. Warming milk. Lullabies. Cuteness. Receiving gifts. Bottle-washing. Formula mixing. Patience.
A friend said, “You guys should celebrate for doing a good job at raising Lexi for a month”.
I’m not really into celebrations but we did anyway.
But all the credit goes to my fiancee and her mom for taking good care of Lexi. Going through this for a month, I now have a higher respect for ALL the other mom’s out there.
Raising a baby is A LOT of work BUT it provides you with a feeling of unexplainable satisfaction for life.
Lexi @ 1st-month…
A Year Ago This Week
I wrote about…
- “forced” career growth. I’m going through this again this year…
- productivity…
- claiming insurance benefits…

Goal Update
Personal Projects
Getting back into copywriting. Haven’t made much progress with the product catalog just yet.
Blogs I’ve written for insurance needs to be revisited and tightened up. I wanna experiment with content marketing. This ties into my goal to learn how to write good copy.
But so far, I’m meeting some of my quarter-end goals.
Health
Sleeping at 8 PM seems to be challenging. An attempt was made however I wasn’t able to keep up.
Sometimes, I just wanna spend more time with Lexi. Doing that obviously screws up this new habit I’m trying to build – but fuck the habit LOL.
Lexi comes first.
Here’s a song to you, since you can’t really talk haha.
Finance
I just increased my potential of making extra money on the side. Now I need to put more work into it so I can cash in on the knowledge I acquired from doing all sorts of different things.
