What Happened This Week
Work is not so busy this week — that bugs me.
Tight deadlines and the pressure of accomplishing tasks in a short amount of time became the fuel to get things done. Without it, I feel unmotivated to do anything because non-urgent tasks feel unimportant. What’s messed up is that I craved for things to slow down but when it did — I (again) seek to be overwhelmed.
I need to teach myself how to be ok to relax and smell the flowers once in a while.

I just finished reading the 4-hour Work Week by Tim Ferris.
One of my main takeaways is to have mini-retirements. We live in a world where we feel the need to go-go-go that we forgot how to relax and focus on what matters: self-care. That includes finding your calling.
It’s no question that you need to make money to support the lifestyle you want to live. Perhaps a bigger question you need to ask yourself is: what is enough?

I spent almost an hour online shopping on Amazon.
This is due to the trial-and-error method I used to maximize my $50 gift card. I needed to make sure I’m buying something I really want or need while taking into account the taxes or shipping fees that come with it. The amount of time I spent finding the right mix is unacceptable.
But that’s the downside of using gift cards – there will be some dollars left you’ll never get to use…

Spending time with my family yesterday made me look forward to retiring early…
A Year Ago This Week
- I was exhausted after my parental leave.
- I’m learning from rejections.
- I’m trying to figure out how to prioritize writing without sacrificing sleep.
