Week 45

Multiple screw-ups at work made me feel down.

While I can find legit reasons how I did not intentionally mess up, it doesn’t change the fact that I messed up.

There’s really no point in trying to come up with excuses to preserve my integrity.

What’s more important is that I take responsibility for my actions.

If something didn’t work out the way you want it, just say, “Good” (as per Jocko Willink).

Focus on one major task a day. ONE major task. Not two. ONE.

That’s what I keep telling myself this week as I’m trying to balance the busyness of work and sneaking in my personal project.

This week, I was able to finish two articles. That’s an improvement from last month.

I also gained 5 new followers. Again an improvement.

AND…I was able to meet a tight deadline at work.

Now, I don’t know if this “one-task/one-day” approach is something I’m gonna start doing from now on.

But it’s a strategy I intend to employ whenever I pressed with time.

I was embarrassed with the article I published this week.

I read it and I was like “What the fuck am I talking about?!”

There’s no flow. No structure. The message isn’t clear. It made me feel like deleting it. But…I decided not to.

This is me practicing how to fail in public.

That article I wrote is a reminder of how crappy we all are at the beginning of our journey.

Yup, lots of fuck-ups this week.

A Year Ago This Week

  • my article for CTTAM was accepted as part of the 2020 Winter Edition magazine.
  • I’m learning copywriting from copying a sales copy from Morning Brew.
  • 50 push-ups a day challenge.
