Week 49

Missed It By 1-Minute

The momentum to complete my 30DT (30 Day Trial to change a habit) ended this Wednesday due to the weather.

I was late for work by 1-minute.

While 1-minute seems like something I can shrug off, it reduces the value of doing the 30DT.

I needed to respect the 30 DT because it’s a proof of my commitment to change a habit.

Blaming the weather is also a lame excuse – because I still could’ve done something to prevent it. If I left one minute earlier then I would’ve been fine right?

But often I like to dance around “the edge” – the line where there’s a 50/50 chance of failing and succeeding. Where one tiny mistake can lead to failure.

It is the same line you wanna be on to stretch your current limits.

Do It Anyway

Sometimes, there are items in your to-do list you don’t really wanna do. That includes errands that need to be done right away.

It is tempting to come up with an excuse not to do them because you’re lazy.

Or perhaps, you just don’t have the energy to do it.

BUT those are also the exact same opportunities to build the muscle to “just fkn DO IT!”

The more I push myself to overcome laziness, the further I can stretch my current limits.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t take a rest or take it easy. In fact, recovery is as important as working hard – like yin and yang.

However, the point I’m really trying to make is that you should use every opportunity to get better at taking control over that lazy person in you.

Use the urge to “do it next time” as a trigger to do it NOW.

It's The Thought That Counts

A presentation was given by the individual that started the insurance brokerage company I’m with…and I agreed with his vision and idea.

I respected his message to get into the mindset (in selling) to help first before making a profit.

That may sound like an obvious/known/given statement when selling. However, it seems like most salespeople miss its essence.

The difference in intent between “helping” and “making money” is so subtle that it’s hard to tell when the salesman is really trying to help you or manipulate you into doing something you don’t wanna do.

While profit is a marker of a successful business, it usually isn’t the reason why the business was created in the first place.

A good business’s intent is to help – to address the problems in exchange for monetary value.

The point: sell your product ONLY to people who want and need it.

Goal Update

Personal Projects

I tried FB ads but didn’t do it properly. No ad was sent out lol – will try to correct that this week.

Also planning to set-up an e-commerce website with Prestashop.

I just learned last week how to create a sub-domain for my website. I’m gonna try to get that done today.

Health

My fiance and I realized we needed to get back into shape.

The healthier we are, the better we can take care of Lexi.

That breast pump we got from my cousin will grant us the time to do this. I can thank my cousin enough for this. #feelingblessedtohavethemaround

The support you get from family outweighs any Christmas gift I can think of.

Finance

I reviewed my monthly expenses to check whether or not I have enough to reduce my debts and it turns out that I need to make more money to make that happen.

If you know someone who is in need to rent an apartment and take over our lease, could you please let me know?
