Week 51

I’m thinking about taking some time off from my routines.

It is a thought that crossed my mind this week. The assumption is that the temporary absence of structure will take away the boredom of consistently trying to meet it. It’s only for two weeks. After that, I’m gonna get back into it again next year.

Now, I’m not sure if the lack of sleep is what’s driving it or my desire to have more time to write.

But regardless, it seems like the logic behind it makes sense…something I don’t expect David Goggins to understand.

I’ve been actively writing and engaging on Medium recently.

I was stoked when one of the big publications I wanted to write for accepted my article. Not only that, I’ve been receiving a lot of engagements from other writers/readers lately. This was due to my participation in a writing challenge. I gained 30 followers this month because of it. That’s a big win!

However, this came at a price of constantly checking my stats, email and phone for notifications. I craved these notifications as each give me a shot of ego boost, which, is obviously unhealthy. And so, I decided to mute the notifications.

Not only that it fucks with my dopamine levels but it’s also fucks with my focus.

My fiancee and I went out on a date without our daughter.

The time alone we had was much better than I expected. We love our daughter more than we love ourselves but this doesn’t mean we can’t leave her at home once in a while. It’s something we intend to do more regularly.

What is 3-hours in a month?

A Year Ago This Week

  • Google had a glitch in their system that made me worry about all the files that I lost.
  • I screwed something up at work before the year ended lol. Shoot.
  • I thought about using my Weekly Planner with more precision. Nah, this is too much planning. I did not end up doing it lol.
