Week 15

I had my very first coaching call this week!

While I had good takeaways, I also realized that I could’ve gotten more valuable answers. The questions I asked and the context I provided were vague. So when you ask a vague question, you’re going to get a generic answer.

I don’t want generic—that’s something you can Google. I needed something more specific to my situation. It’s where the coach helps you figure it out on your own by asking you questions that increase your awareness about your problem.

I’m gonna ask a more specific question next time…

My ghostwriter landing page is done:
– Bio = DONE
– Wring Samples = DONE
– Ebook Samples = DONE
– Short description of service = DONE

However, I have a few more things I needed to do before I start “promoting” it. I need to…
– upload and sell my ebooks on Gumroad
– purchase an annual subscription with Carrd

Once that’s done, I can go full-throttle on writing content.

Now that I’ve gotten more intentional with my writing. I decided to post more content that caters to my potential clients (professionals who want to share their insights to the world and increase their influence in their network)—and less content on random shit that I think about.

This week, an article that took me a week to finish was rejected because it was too ranty lol.

Here’s a quick snip of what I learned in the last two weeks of writing my article:
– Make sure the content caters to either professionals or business owners.
– Brain dump (with intent).
– Use the “WHY-HOW” structure to explain things that attracts people who like to think.
– Mix “Non-obvious” and “Obvious” content strategically—all while taking into account the “zigzag” flow of the writing.
– Add “Instead of doing that, do this instead”. Readers want solutions to their problems. The easier the solution is, the more likely they’re going to read.
– Ask myself, “Is this e-book worthy?”

Now, I was asked to make some changes to the article, however, I’m not expecting it to be accepted. I’m proud of what I’ve written. I’ll just have to find a less popular publication that will publish it.

Becoming a professional writer is a long game.

I’m gonna keep plugging away at it.

A Year Ago This Week

  • NAIA is pretty dead around midnight.
  • Mie goreng – the one dish that I kept ordering when we were in Nusa Dua.
  • Rain was pouring hard when we left Bali.
