Week 17

It was nice to see and hang out with my cousins who I haven’t seen or talked to in a long time!

I’m reminded of how time flies. We are all getting older—always busy doing our own thing. While I prefer to get on a one-on-one deep convo, a group gathering is also fun as it allows you to jump from one cousin to another without setting up another meeting (everyone had a tough time going).

Everyone’s got their own priorities—but if it’s for a family member, you almost always automatically put it on top of the priority list. It’s just the way it is lol.

The article I’ve been working on that dragged on for 2 weeks was finally rejected.

While the rejection stings, I’m also glad it did. The beauty of rejections is that they force you to reflect and study what happened more closely. There’s something about the emotional pain that makes you see things a little clearer.

As I reread my work, I’m going, “WTF am I talking about?!”

But because I did not want the work to go to waste, I tried to salvage it by converting it carousel posts!

It was a good idea then. But when I reviewed the ideas I had for hooks, I realized that I’m “forcing” things to happen. None of them was “post-worthy”.

That’s when I decided to let go…

Purchased a crash-course to upgrade my career.

The course was about how to perform in a way to get more out of your salary increase. While the course did not get into the specifics of HOW TO DO IT, it teaches you the meta-skills you need to have to pull it off.

They are as follows: observation and cooperation.

How the hell am I gonna do that?

Stay tuned. I’m going to turn myself into my own case study.

A Year Ago This Week

  • Cebu Pacific got us all riled up for changing our flights less than 1 day before takeoff!
  • Konbinis not only satisfies your hunger but also keeps your pocket full.
