Week 2

It’s been over a week since I had symptoms of Covid but my taste buds aren’t back yet.

This is annoying because water doesn’t taste so refreshing. I also still feel a little congested. I’m also wondering if this is really Covid or is it just in my head because I had Covid?

Despite all that, I decided to slowly get back to my usual morning routine.

Reading about Tony Hsieh’s life, I wondered if the way I’m approaching my personal projects is wrong.

He is very well accomplished at such a young age. I wondered what my life would be like if I was in his shoes. Then I realized how sometimes, when things are “too easy”, boredom creeps in. The lack of challenge is what robs the fun out of any venture.

So far, one of the biggest takeaways from reading his book (still reading it) is to have fun with whatever venture you’re on.

Medium is a social platform for writers and readers so I thought I can stand out on the platform by posting my artwork instead of articles.

It seemed like a good idea but I ended up not doing it. Aside from the amount of work to republish and write about the artwork, it just doesn’t make sense. A lot of marketers promote stuff on the wrong platform thinking that if they have a wider reach, the higher the chances of getting a lead. While that makes sense in theory, it could come off as “desperate”. And if you come off desperate, you lose credibility.

No credibility, no leads, zero profit.

A Year Ago This Week

  • Switched phone services to Fido…to save money.
  • I started writing about retirement and financial planning. The idea is to promote the life insurance I was selling at the time. Fast forward today, I’m no longer a broker 🙂
