Week 25

What Happened This Week

On Reading Books…

I haven’t been reading anything lately since I committed to using the time for writing.

I realized I have a few unread books. I stopped reading them because I either lost interest or there’s a change in my current interests.

This doesn’t really sit well with me because I want my return on investment. So, I decided to pick one of those unread books and scanned through it.

However, I still didn’t learn much – probably because at this point, I don’t really give a crap. So I decided to stop reading and consider donating it or dumping it in the recycle bin.

Don’t get me wrong. The book is good. It’s just that I’m not the right audience for it.

It’s about understanding how metaphors drive our day-to-day communication.

On Writing New Content…

I took a pause on writing new content. I feel like I needed to step away for a bit because I feel burned out.

However, I still want to post new content.

This time, I decided to repurpose the contents of an old e-magazine I created to showcase my artwork.

The e-magazine was an attempt to mix my writing skills and illustration skills. However, it flopped lol.

And so, I’d use it as a filler while I’m taking a break.

The new series will be published on Medium next week.

On MSPainting/Digital Drawing…

I can’t wait to get my horoscope series done…because I’m tired of it.

I’m not as excited as I once was.

However, I wanna push myself to finish it off anyway because the whole experiment replicates the same feeling I’m going to get, let’s say if I have a client and I get asked to do something I’m not really into.

If you’re paid to do it, you gotta do it.

Now, no one is paying me to do this. This frustration I feel is of my own doing.

The experiment has less to do with the quality of the work, but it has more to do with training my patience towards doing something I don’t enjoy.

A Year Ago This Week

It looks like during this time of the year, I feel like I don’t have any sense of direction (in terms of passion projects).

I’m also talking about taking a break to reassess wtf I’m trying to accomplish here.

  • I wrote about the value of job-hopping.
  • It looks like I’m trying to integrate working out into my morning routine.
    • Today, I’m trying to integrate intermittent fasting. #selfdevelopment
  • We started focusing on eliminating our debts.
