Week 29

What's On My Mind

“Do it to forget about it…”

Getting up late means little to no time to work on my personal projects.

And because I’m unable to work on my personal projects, I couldn’t help but think about them while I’m at work. This results in reduced focus and poor work quality. It makes me feel like taking a day off. Both areas (personal and work-life) suffer if I don’t get to work on my project. It’s like an itch that needs to be scratched to allow you to keep moving.

Working on the ideas that have been brewing in my head, may that be an idea for a logo or a blog post, I somehow free-up some mental room I can then leverage for my day job.

Austin Kleon emphasizes this truth in a podcastwork on your creative venture before going to your day job.

I wanna consider myself as someone who is “action-oriented” – even though I’m known to be someone who thinks a little too much.

Weekly Update

Personal Projects

I refunded my purchase for the software that converts my blog to audio. Why? They couldn’t fix my account – I couldn’t log in. This turned out to be perfectly ok because my “audio-blogs” didn’t increase the traffic on my website.

***

I updated the logo for my Medium publication: Quick 1.

The logo now aligns with the core idea of the publication: personal reminders that take about 1-minute to read.

***

I submitted my article to Ascent. It is now waiting for approval.

***

I’m still waiting for a confirmation for appointments.

Routine

We are currently looking at updating our diet – less on grains and fruits and more on veggies the grow above the ground.

***

75 seconds—that’s how long I can stay in a cold shower.

Finance

I applied for a new credit card that provides a cash-back as opposed to Aeroplan miles.

Aeroplan miles are kind of useless these days because you can’t travel.
