Week 29

What Happened This Week

I fall in and out of my routine.

That’s usually the case when something unexpected comes up regardless if it’s something good or bad. Anything that is out of the norm, well, will make things out of the norm. And that is what we call ‘Life’.

I say that because I can’t deny that I feel less disciplined this week.

Sleeping late. Getting up late. No workouts. No meditation. No cold shower. 2 cups of coffee.

But these were all conscious decisions.

Work has consumed me lately. And I forgot that there is life after work. No, I’m not talking about relaxing or taking a break.

We have other responsibilities that still require attention.

Work stress does not excuse us from those.

This explains why I keep my OT hours to a limit. As our life after work matters a lot more.

Lexi is teething again.

Her appetite is down. Well, it’s either the teething or maybe she became picky with food. This worries me, simply because it isn’t normal.

But that also triggered a thought that I need to step up my game and be more involved in food prepping/feeding her.

Lately, we relied heavily on my mom in that area because, y’know, work?

But we don’t want my mom to feel like she’s a nanny. And so, we needed to step back and figure out how we can get ourselves more involved with Lexi.

We have a plan in place.

I’m sure it will work out.

I’m still behind my projects.

I want to do more OT hours to catch up to my deadlines.

But if you work in the office and your task requires a lot of thinking and understanding wtf you’re reading, OT is not going to help.

Mentally pushing yourself to understand something is totally different from pushing yourself to physically do something.

A Year Ago This Week

  • Do it so you can stop thinking about it.
  • Bought software to convert my written blogs to their audio version.
    • I ended up refunding the software. But somehow I still have access to it.
  • Logo design for my Quick 1 publication.
  • Applied for a new credit card that earns cash back as opposed to air miles.
