Week 33

The surface of our bathroom walls was positive for asbestos! WTF

We all know how bad asbestos is for your health. It will kill you – not in an instant but it will in a few years of exposure. Of course, this got me all panicky, but I shouldn’t. As long as the asbestos material is undisturbed or if it’s not falling apart, it’s gonna be ok.

That means, we cannot get the bathroom fixed until that has been PROFESSIONALLY taken care of.

I’m glad we didn’t have the budget for a bathroom reno, otherwise, we would’ve gone ahead with one of the 3 contractors that looked at it — but never told us about it.

No, they weren’t trying to be sneaky, they just didn’t know what they were looking at it. Their health would also be in danger if they decide to break things apart without realizing exactly what they’re breaking. Most houses built between the 70’s and 80’s have them.

This incident updated my knowledge on home renos – get (whatever you wanna reno) inspected before you put everyone at risk!

We had to return some products we ordered from IKEA because it was the wrong size…

This kind of shit happens when you get too excited that you gloss over the tiny details that cost time and money to fix. I’m talking about exchanging items that are too big to fit in our car. Transporting large items costs a lot of money.

Oh well, it was an expensive mistake to learn.

I have no idea wtf happened but there’s blood in my eye!

Been doing online research on wtf it would be and it turns out to be a non-emergency thing. It’s called “subconjunctival hemorrhage”. It looks more concerning than it actually is. But even if that’s the case, I’m still gonna see a specialist confirm it. Yea I’m paranoid about it but I’m no WebMD.

Some will say, “You think too much”, and my answer to that is “Yes. I’d rather look paranoid and be safe than doctor myself (to avoid looking like I’m paranoid)” 😀

I downloaded the Waking Up app again because it’s free for a month.

Man, it’s the perfect time because I’m in deep need of calmness.

A Year Ago This Week

  • There was a plan to move everyone back to the office. *That did not happen, thank goodness!
  • We took Lexi to the zoo.
  • Became a fan of Ship 30 for 30.
