Week 35

What Happened This Week

Lexi passed on her virus to me.

Both of us suffered from a clogged nose and occasional cough for a week. She’s almost at her 100% but I’m not there yet (I’d say 85%). This prompted the question in my head: What’s the protocol when I’m feeling sick?

I don’t really have any other than to avoid working out and hold off on the cold shower.

But it also occurred to me that this could be an opportunity to be “lazy”.

That means doing anything I considered unproductive such as playing video games and watch non-educational Youtube videos. However, I didn’t really get to do those either. I need to be more mature about it because I still have a child that needs to be taken care of.

When you’re sick, you wish for things to be easier but at the same time, it’s also an opportunity to show Life you don’t surrender that easily.

I started a new IG series on logo design.

Ok, it’s not logo design but more like illustrations that look like a logo. I do not know much about logo design but getting my head to think about a clever way to use my initials (as part of the design) posed a good challenge for me. The goal is to experiment while exercising my creativity muscle.

You know what they say, “if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.”

I also started writing again, cuz y’know, “I don’t wanna lose it”.

But it was a bad start because I’m sick. I’ve been getting up one hour later than usual. Since I decided to hold off on my typical morning routine, I used the time to write instead. I had a goal of writing a topic in 5 sentences but ended up writing more.

While I failed to meet my goal, it made me realize why I’m doing the practice in the first place: to realize the areas I need to get better at.

A Year Ago This Week

I took on too many tasks that I cannot handle:

    • signed up to be a contributor to Medium publications
    • attempted to produce a crapload of articles while taking care of Lexi.
    • trying to get my career going in the insurance industry.

LOL what was I thinking?
