Week 36

What Happened This Week

Why can’t I work less and do more of what I enjoy doing without having to worry about paying my bills?

That’s the question that made me entertain the idea of a 4-hour workweek. To most people (myself included), this is an unrealistic dream, so much so, that thought of winning a lottery seems more possible. But as per the book, it’s possible.

This explains why I’m reading more about it: to rewire my brain to think that it’s possible.

My 2-year web hosting is up for renewal.

The renewal cost about $450 for two years. That’s a little too much for my budget – especially now that we are becoming more mindful with our expenses. So I decided, to go for the basic plan.

I don’t really need the extra features right now, just a platform to store the content I create online.

We are decluttering.

This time, we decided to get rid of all the items we haven’t used in 2 years. This created more space, which, allowed for space to move my computer station out of the small room in the basement. I like to rearrange things once in a while because it somehow motivates me to change something about myself for the better.

This explains why Marie Kondo became viral: tidying up positively affects your life.

I’ve been asking myself the “big” questions lately.

What kind of future do I want? What am I doing today to get there? What is it about what I have now that I want to improve?

I don’t have the answer to these questions, but they help me focus on doing the things that really matter.

A Year Ago This Week

  • I used my unemployed status to push myself to make money on the side (through writing and selling insurance)
