Week 38

“Bloodwork results are normal”, my new doctor said, “except for your triglycerides…”

In my head, “Talk normal Doc, none of these smart linggo you’re spitting out right now”.

“It means your cholesterol is high”, he explained automatically as if he read my mind.

But what he is really trying to say is, “Watch your diet. It looks like you’ve been eating a lot of greasy and processed food”. It’s a fair assessment.

I thought I could go on forever with eating chips and fried food forever. Now that I think about it, clogged arteries + hypertension = stroke?

It doesn’t matter. Bottom line is…I need to start taking my health more seriously because my current lifestyle is a ticking-time-bomb.

The draft version of my first e-book is almost done.

It’s a free e-book, therefore, I’m not going to make things more complex than they are. Translation: no need to be all fancy with the layout, the cover and all that.

The whole point of doing this is to understand what it takes to create digital assets.

The more you do, the better you become at it…duh…I know.

The current group I’m with in Night Owl Nation is about to split.

I’m grateful as I met people who were able to encourage me to be more ballsy when it comes to showing up online and acknowledging other people’s compliments.

Now now, this does not mean that I’m automatically gonna believe your compliments right now. I still see compliments as a way for people to pull my leg.

It’s a process. It takes time.

But what’s cool that happened this week was when a coworker shared how they talked about me in their meeting. Apparently, they were surprised to learn that I’m still reading through specs and managing the team’s coded-spreadsheets at the same time.

This tells me that my plan to re-brand is working!

P.S. I’m gonna write all about this in the future. I need to monitor this for like a year or so.

A Year Ago This Week

  • I always end my small talk in an awkward way.
  • Whatever flu I got feels worse than when I had Covid!
  • This was the week when I started my new sched as a “full-time dad”.
