Week 41

Cold e-mailed a Sales Engineer on Linkedin to find out more about what’s it like to become a Sales Engineer. Why?

A headhunter reached out to me about a job opportunity that has the potential to make 6 figures. Of course, my Imposter Syndrome kicked in. I mean, 6 figures?! C’mon now. But I got into a conversation anyway to learn more about the job.

Turns out, there’s travelling involved and I don’t get to work from home.

That was a deal-breaker for me.

Money has a strong ability to blind your decisions.

But thank goodness for this short interaction because it pushed me to gain clarity on what I really want.

P.S. The person I reached out to gave me his number. Cha-ching! Picking his brain is a lot more valuable to me than the salary.

I’m super happy with my N.O.N. group because we were all writers.

A copywriter, a journalist, a screenwriter, a book editor and there’s me–the online writer lol. It feels pretty cool to be in a group like that where we can geek out about storytelling and…just writing in general.

2 weeks ago, I published my first FREE e-book.

It’s how I’m starting to dabble with creating digital assets.

Learning about other people’s career history made me more emphatic towards other employees whom I only knew based on their job titles.

It’s easy to judge others based on the limited information we have about them. I have to admit, there were times when I acted like an asshole when they did something that don’t quite make sense lol. What I’m learning now (or should I say “re-learning”) is that you never really know the story of the person you are talking to.

The easiest way to deal with this is to try to get to know them as a person and not a job title.
