Week 43

I participated in a copywriting contest.

This was my way of practicing how to update a client’s website home page. The challenge was to create compelling homepage content for a local chiropractic clinic.

Below is my entry:

Move through your day without joint and muscle pain

We make those joints and muscles work together without drugs or surgery.

A lot of chiropractors offer generic solutions to their clients — not with us. Our team combines chiropractic treatments with muscle therapies (specifically designed for you). This assessment is FREE. It’s our responsibility to educate you about your health. We’ll be waiting in the Back Bay Area when you’re ready.

I thought I was ahead of everyone when I finished my storytelling assignment this week.

As I was going through other students’ posts, I realized that I took the wrong format. Needless to say, I did not follow the instruction for the assignment. And when I had my meeting with the group members, I realized that I took the wrong approach lol.

I thought about deleting my post because I’m embarrassed.

But I ended up leaving it there as a reminder of my failure lol.

Signed up for a free e-mail course on website design.

This relates to copywriting because it’s not just about the text but also its layout. I learned that companies pay a premium for website upgrades. If that’s where the money is then that’s what I’m gonna follow (or at least try to see if it’s something I really wanted to do).

So, I did that. I applied the lessons I learned to my website.

3-hours of simple updates later, I realized that web design is not for me (at least not right now). I thought, “Templates exist! Use them!”

That said, I’m gonna keep focusing on writing blogs/articles.

A Year Ago This Week

  • One podcast episode changed my mind about giving a Covide-19 vaccine to kids.
  • I only had 33 followers on Medium. *Today I have 269 #progress
