Week 49

What Happened This Week

With software updates, the duration of the update varies. This week’s Windows update tested my patience. What normally takes about 15-20 minutes took almost 2-hrs! Now, that would’ve been ok if Windows gave me a time frame on how long the update would take. But it didn’t. And so, I had to pay close attention. A nagging voice in my head kept asking, “Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet? How much longer is it going to take? Is it done yet?”.

This bothered me a lot because I couldn’t work. I’m worried about those e-mails I needed to address (if there were any) and all that. I suppose I can work longer and adjust my hours to make up for the lost time – but I don’t want to do that because I have other commitments at home that are much more important than work.

Such is the kind of mental struggle that often occurs in my head. I’m getting better at recognizing and acknowledging those “voices”.

Haha I’m gonna sound a little kookoo by saying that. But if you dig deep enough – you’ll realize these voices exist inside you as well.

I’m learning new things at work and somehow I feel like the person training me talks a lot about the tactics on how to do things. I have a big issue with tactics – they don’t tell you why we do things the way we do it. I prefer looking and understanding the big picture first before diving into the details.

If I had money, I’d get into therapy or coaching. What kind of therapy/coach? The kind that would help me level up.

I feel like I’m working hard but it also looks like I’m working hard on the wrong things.

A Year Ago This Week

  • I experimented with the 30DT to build a habit.
  • I struggled to notice the difference between being lazy and “too tired to do anything”.
  • The difference between sellers who care and sellers who don’t care is their intent behind the sale. Often times when we are offered a product, we wonder, “Ok that’s good and all but tell me, what’s in it for you?”
