The year is about to wrap up.
This makes me wonder, “Ok so what the heck have I been doing for the past 11 months? How much have I grown as an individual? Am I becoming the person I want my daughter to look up to?”
Lol these are existential questions I ask myself in my journal to keep me grounded.

I finished reading about Grit in less than a month (or you can watch the talk here).
You see, it typically takes me about 3 months to finish reading a book. Needless to say, I’m a sloooooow reader. So how did I manage to finish this book in less than a month?
I read it backwards. I started from the conclusion to get the core idea of the chapter before skimming through the whole chapter.
A lot of times, with books, you’ll realize that they could’ve been written a lot shorter.

I joined a writing challenge to push myself to take writing a little more seriously.
Last month I was able to gain 15 followers – that’s an achievement. My goal is to at least get 100 followers. Why?
It’s the least amount of followers you need to qualify in Medium’s Partner Program.
My current goal is to pre-publish 2 articles a week. So far, I’m able to keep up with it.
A Year Ago This Week
- Recognizing the voices in my head. “Voices” = These are thoughts, not some made up character in your psyche.
- I have a big issue with learning tactics WITHOUT going over the reasons why it works. I prefer to start with mastering the basics. I don’t need the “HOW”, I want the “WHY”.
- I’d love to get coached to get better at something. But coaching is expensive. Someday…
