Week 9

I had a gout flare-up…wtf.

All this time, I thought I had a “somewhat healthy” diet (y’know, your typical Filipino ulam and rice combo) but I was wrong. I thought I can get away with it since I (only occasionally) eat “junk”. I wonder if it’s that duck meat my dad bought at the Asian store? No, it doesn’t matter. I had a gout attack. End of story.

Now, I never realized how painful this thing is.

I wanted to “man-it-up” but couldn’t because it is that painful. No physical workout for 7 days. The only workout I can do is a “mental workout”. It is the management of the pain and regret every time I limp my way to the bathroom to try to flush the purines out.

What a week…

I’m on episode 8 of The Last Dance.

I watch it because I’m curious to understand how Michael Jordan thinks—the mystery and mindset behind the legend. I shared this with a friend and he tells me that MJ is the “bad” guy. However, so far, I still don’t see how he is a bad guy. But I do agree that he is an a-hole. Now, bad guy and a-hole both belong to the negative side of personality but there’s a difference between the two.  And the only way to understand it is to go deeper into understanding why MJ did what he did.

That’s what I’m realizing as I’m reading  Relentless by Tim Grover – the behind the scene coach of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.

My subscription for my mediation up is going to end soon.

That’s ok because I haven’t been meditating. Right now, I’m focusing more on visualization. My goal is to get so good at it to allow myself to get into a ‘flow state‘ on command.

I’m curious about these things because I wanted to level myself up…

A Year Ago This Week

  • I was disappointed because I made a stupid mistake.
  • Back to MSPainting.
  • I continued to write about my thoughts on life insurance.
