2019 Highlights

  1. [engaged] to my common-law partner.
  2. [Lexi] turned us into a family of 3.
  3. acquired the license to sell Life Insurance.
  4. career is leaning towards what I really wanted to do: create improvements

  6. made my first dollar from creating personalized designs – and acquired a new client after that.
  7. finished reading two books: [Ultralearning] and [Never Split The Difference] and [Can’t Hurt Me].

2019 Weekly Recaps

[Week 1] *does not exist. It seems like I took a day-off on writing…

[Week 2] – set goals for 2019; Aimed to be 5% better on everything; thoughts on temptation.

[Week 3] – more on goal-setting; delivered the training exercise I created to the company’s Sales department.

[Week 4] – relationship maintenance.

[Week 5] – cold snap; the art of trying; added a new section “Exactly A Year Ago…” in my weekly posts.

[Week 6] – managing anger; thoughts on trade-offs.

[Week 7] – heard Lexi’s heartbeat; dream interpretation; embracing the struggle; added section: Goal Updates to my weekly post – to keep me-self accountable.

[Week 8] – I’m a hypocrite; thoughts on books and friends; advice is a double-edged sword.

[Week 9] – almost got into a car accident; seeking spiritual energy from David Goggins; MoMo.

[Week 10] – burnt out; paused on reading books; failed to flip “Tenikle”.

[Week 20] – acquired my LLQP certificate to allow me to write the exam for my life insurance license; “gaming” the system: when “passing” does not equate to “learning”

[Week 25] – re-assessed my self-esteem; I passed the licensure exam to sell life insurance; been thinking about doing the Happy Body again.

[Week 26] – End of quarter check-up; the old business company I created is not officially closed yet.

[Week 27] – when things don’t go as planned; acknowledge the small wins; too much is almost always bad.

[Week 28] – reyvi’s baby shower; haircuts and niches; boredom; thoughts on honesty and empathy.

[Week 29] – groomsmen-ing at my friend’s wedding in Vancouver.

[Wee 30] – improving my self-esteem through sentence-completions; invested RRSP with Questrade; turned “long-term” goals to “mid-term” goals.

[Week 31] – misused/abused “breaks”.

[Week 32] – Lexi is giving her mommy a heads up that she’s about to come out; MSPaint request: Samurai = DONE.

[Week 33] – I became a dad 🙂

[Week 34] – the season of sleep deprivation came in…hard; I’m on “information diet”.

[Week 35] – I prefer to keep things on the down-low; looking into creating a catalog for my personalized art.

[Week 36] – rigidity damages flexibility (in terms of routines and habits); struggling on deciding what to eat.

[Week 37] – offsite work party; wanting to get back into copywriting.

[Week 38] – I officially became a life insurance broker; downloaded a new meditation app – I needed to be mindful to make up for my sleep deprivation.

[Week 39] – back on shrooms; finished creating a catalog (more like a printed ad for Personalized Designs); more action, less consumption.

[Week 40] – changed my way of setting goals; reduced caffeine consumption.

[Week 41] – our biases screw up our judgment; still struggling with figuring out what to eat.

[Week 42] – cold showers; it’s perfectly fine to be “stupid”; decided to stop working on my personalized designs project and focus more on writing about life insurance.

[Week 43] – on being “fake”; problems pave a way for improvement; updated my website.

[Week 44] – in-laws had to go back to the Philippines a month earlier; dealing with sudden change.

[Week 45] – getting up at 3 AM; looked into FB ads to acquire audience; cooking with sous-vide.

[Week 46] – more thoughts on the “bad side” of good; decided to reduce my effort on my weekly post; thought about (again) setting up an e-commerce store.

[Week 47] – hyperacidity gone bad; I needed to get better at prioritizing.

[Week 48] – on energy management; how I failed at freelancing; learned about sub-domains for my website – it’s what I’ll use for my e-commerce store.

[Week 49] – failed my 30DT to start work at 530 AM by 1-minute; FB ads fail.

[Week 50] – progress is super slow with my side projects; I misinterpreted what “productivity” really means.

[Week 51] – unprepared for Christmas; sore body from working out…for 10-minutes lol; made my 1st dollar with my personalized art 🙂

What I WISH Would Happen in 2020

  • Clear out credit line debt from 2019
  • Physical activity becomes part of my daily routine
  • Prioritization skills improved by 15% (even though I have no way of measuring that).

I have yet to set my goals for 2020 but these should be the top 3.
