Highlights of 2021
- Week 1 – wasn’t prepared for the holidays. But I told myself that I’m gonna be more kind to myself.
- Week 2 – moved to another network company to save money on phone bills.
- Week 3 – published my artwork on Gallea.
- Week 4 – no exciting updates.
- Week 5 – met my January goals. I’m also thinking about making money on the side.
- Week 6 – decided to learn about typography.
- Week 7 – binging on Coffeezilla. I looked at cooking as an alternative way to practice creativity.
- Week 8 – opinions on life insurance. trying to get back to illustrating with MSPaint.
- Week 9 – I messed something up at work…something stupid. I finished “nurse fox” (MSPaint art).
- Week 10 – The Ascent accepted another one of my articles. The Ascent is a big publication on Medium.
- Week 11 – I’m wondering if sensory deprivation helped me to take action even when I don’t feel like doing anything.
- Week 12 – I took a week off from workouts. Less writing, more drawing.
- Week 13 – Burned out at work. Decided to get into meditation again.
- Week 14 – visited the zoo for the first time.
- Week 15 – got back to drinking ‘shroom coffee. I also started posting on IG again (of old work while I’m working on new ones).
- Week 16 – I couldn’t workout due to my plantar wart. Yucky. I know. But it’s gone now lol.
- Week 17 – I thought about starting a new podcast — basically an audio version of my articles. No I didn’t do it because it’s time consuming.
- Week 18 – I noticed how I was focusing more on quantity over quality (in the context of illustrations). I was not happy with the results.
- Week 19 – talked to my parents about their finances.
- Week 20 – decided to push my morning routine on the side to create more time for work.
- Week 21 – I had my 1st does of Covid vaccine. Finished watching Akame Ga Kill on Netflix.
- Week 22 – I took a break (again) from my typical routine…and I didn’t give myself a hard time about it.
- Week 23 – finished reading Quit Like a Millionaire. I’ve gotten better at speed reading.
- Week 24 – I decided to temporarily stop writing because I was burned out.
- Week 25 – I’m also tired of working on my MSPaint horoscope series.
- Week 26 – I got my 2nd Covid vaccine. I’m also doing intermittent fasting.
- Week 27 – rented a cabin to “get away from it all”. I watched an anime love story but didn’t feel less manly about it lol.
- Week 28 – I wanted to stop using MSPaint and learn another software: Inkscape. To this day, I’ haven’t had a chance to play with it lol.
- Week 29 – burned out at work.
- Week 30 – took Lexi to the beach.
- Week 31 – I remember my grandma.
- Week 32 – read a book on writing. I stopped funneling my audience between platforms. Meditation doesn’t feel like meditation.
- Week 33 – we sold one of our cars.
- Week 34 – Lexi was sick. Covid negative.
- Week 35 – I caught Lexi’s flu. Covid negative as well. Started posting logo-like illustrations.
- Week 36 – I’m reading the 4-hour work week to rewire my brain to look for opportunities where I can get paid for the value I provide instead of the time I put in.
- Week 37 – I’m learning about web design as I tamper with the idea of becoming a graphic designer.
- Week 38 – I’m thinking about self-care and mini-retirements after I finished reading 4-hour workweek.
- Week 39 – I’m reading Levelling Up. I wanted to immerse myself in the gaming world simply because I still play videogames and I’m a fan of personal development.
- Week 40 – I’m learning about NFTs and the Web 3.0. It still sounds gibberish to me.
- Week 41 – I realized how bad I’m at with planning and following through a schedule.
- Week 42 – I was consistent with my writing. I’m writing about videogames.
- Week 43 – Joe Rogan’s podcast with Dr. Sanjay Gupta changed the way I view kid vaccinations.
- Week 44 – been listening to podcast a lot lately on writing and etc.
- Week 45 – I’m testing the idea of focusing on finishing one major task per day.
- Week 46 – saw my doctor for a general check-up.
- Week 47 – I decided to stop contributing to my company’s pension plan.
- Week 48 – Medium tweeted my article!
- Week 49 – finished reading Grit. I also learned how to read backwards. Joined Coffee Times Writing Challenge.
- Week 50 – my presentation ended in an awkward way because I tried to make some shit up in the end.
- Week 51 – I’ve been writing more and engaging more on Medium.
- Week 52 – Lexi had a good Christmas.
